E- RYT 500, YACEP, Program Director. Reiki and Crystal Intuitive Practitioner
Yoga became part of my existence in 1987 when life brought me to my knees. It was not until I walked into a Yoga Nidra class where I discovered the meaningful path I was about to embark on. My teacher walked over to my mat and gently rested a rose quartz on my heart center. Today, I incorporate Yoga Nidra in every class and weave in either crystals, reiki, chakra awareness, and Ayurverdic marma points.
I am an (Experienced Registered) ERYT 500-Hour Yoga Teacher registered with the Yoga Alliance. My roots are in Hatha and Vinyasa yoga. I teach proper postures to ensure maximum benefit and safety, instructing with props and modifications when needed as well as playing the edge of your mat to maximize your practice. Hands on alignments, adjustments, and a thorough knowledge of anatomy are always primary for me. I have Advanced Registered Training in Therapeutic Yoga; Yoga for Mental Health, Trauma and Addiction. I am able to teach you not only because of my training but, because I empathize with your world.
I invite you to achieve your goals by allowing me to inspire you to improve wellness by combining body and mind. I am energetic, adaptable and encouraging. I offer 200 Hour Registered Yoga Alliance Teacher Training. In addition, I am part of the Kula for Karma Yoga Family. Classes are available in the comfort of your home, work space, venues or my hOMe studio/Shala in River Edge. Ask me about outdoor, private and group practices.
Charlene found yoga 5 years ago while working with seniors who had Alzheimer's disease, and dementia. While practicing yoga Charlene earned her license in Occupational Therapy, and became a RYT 200 Yoga Alliance Registered Teacher. She is a graduate of Soul Practice Yoga. Through her journey she learned the value of blending OT with Yoga. Charlene's goal is to share her knowledge with people of all life spans so that they may realign their minds, and bodies to better connect to their highest self. Yoga was something I wanted to do for so many years. Raising two daughters, juggling life’s responsibilities, rarely having extra time for myself, I finally vowed to carve time out to give yoga a try. Fast forward, after practicing for 2 years, I needed to dive deeper and enrolled into teacher training. Sharing this amazing mind, body and soul practice with students has become my passion for the past 4 years. Needing more, and wanting to give more of myself, I became certified in prenatal and postnatal yoga. It is my goal to empower the pregnant body and mind. There is no better time to engage in this practice, learning about your changing body, mindfully connecting your movements with your breath all the while connecting with your baby.
Lianne (RYT-200 & R-CYT) found yoga while working with children who have disabilities at The Center for Discovery in upstate NY over 10 years ago. She has had a deep personal yoga practice ever since. Throughout her time in school and early in her career, she explored studios all over NYC - from traditional Asthanga to Kundalini to Hatha, to studying Ayurveda and the Chakras, Lianne lives and breathes the practice.
Her style is rooted in the philosophy of yoga, with a special focus on asana alignment and breath work. She loves guiding her students to build their practice into their daily life. She has a special focus in children's yoga (teaching mindfulness through play and curiosity), but loves teaching all ages. Lianne is a Graduate of Soul Practice Yoga.
6 years ago I turned to yoga to help mitigate symptoms of adrenal fatigue and insomnia. Not only did it help tremendously, but I fell in love with the asanas and found an inner peace that was clearly missing in my life. When the pandemic closed studios, I went from a 3 day a week practice to a daily practice at home. I wanted a deeper understanding, advancing my own practice and wanting to teach others. I believe yoga is for everyone and every age. Through Soul Practice Yoga I became a RYT 200 Yoga Alliance Registered Teacher. While Vinyasa is my favorite movement, I have found a great appreciation in meditation and enjoy teaching my 2 young daughters Pranayama techniques.
